A highly self-motivated individual with great passion for game design and development and possess nearly a decade of experience in the industry. Professionally trained in software engineering, but have great interest in other fields of software/game development.

A passionate game designer/producer, an aspiring UX researcher and an astute observer of the game industry.

MY SKILL SET

What I Do

GAME DEVELOPMENT

End-to-end knowledge of game development. From planning, designing, to coding and monetisation. Even possess a *little* art and design skills, enough to craft a presentable game.

SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Developed games in C++ (Cocos2d-x). Self-taught, developed and maintained commercial iOS applications using Objective-C and Swift. Some knowledge of SQL and support-level backend Java programming.

COMMUNICATION

Self proclaimed good conversationist. Able to communicate cross-functionally and with stakeholders of different business levels. Reading and writing proficiencies in English and Mandarin. Also able to understand and speak in Cantonese.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

No official experience, just an aspiration that I am working on to get trained and educated for now :)

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Background & Expertise

SOFTWARE ENGINEER (STREETSINE, SRX)

Since July 2017

Commercial iOS software development and maintenance. Led the development of new features in SRX premium member's app: SRX Analyzer while also briefly provided backend coding support. Contributed to the automation effort of the company's flyer design and distribution service.

FOUNDER, GAME DEVELOPER (UNEXPECT3RD DEVELOPMENTS)

Since 2011

Designed, developed and produced multiple casual mobile games. Including titles featured by Apple multiple times in the App Store and one title selected to be a Apple Store retail device demo. Also released games nominated for Indie Prize Award 2016 and International Mobile Game Award Asia 2016.

GAME DEVELOPER (LAMBDAMU GAMES)

March 2013 - February 2016

Lead programmer for Pixel people and another unreleased project, Pixel Heroes. Implemented  and launched the online features (front and backend) for Pixel People. Assisted CEO & CCO in producing game updates for Pixel People and planning Pixel Heroes.

GAME DEVELOPER (TYLER PROJECTS)

December 2010 - Mar 2013

Game programming for mobile and Facebook (AS3/PHP). Localised Battlestations (English -> Chinese) and liaised with Taiwan team. Also assisted Business Development in investigating potential expansion into China as well as pitching to Japanese publishers. Worked with Lead Game Designer to produce game prototypes.
